Plant Your Seeds Wisely

Ali Brown is a business coach and created a great company. It is very clear that she worked very hard and has two opportunities created by herself, and took advantage of the many opportunities offered. During the event SHINE Ali in Dallas, taught a session on the importance of seizing the opportunities that are available to you and fear. For the most part I think Ali was right, but there is something she says makes me feel uncomfortable and wanted to share with you.

Ali used an analogy with agriculture and spoke of planting all the seeds (or taking advantage of every opportunity) that is because you never know where they lead. On the surface, this makes perfect sense, because if the plants can not grow, but here is what was hard for me.

Following the farming analogy, imagine what would happen if the plants of each seed (or take advantage of every opportunity). In my opinion it is one of two things happen ...

You have a lot of seeds, so you can plant a nice big field. Every day you wake up, and usually look for each plant. It starts the installation of # 1 and work like crazy but no matter what you do, you just can not get them all.

Or maybe you realize that you can not spread like that if you can plant them in a nice compact piece of land. Unfortunately, this does not, you end up on planting seeds and crowding so that nothing grows.

The precious seed is placed in the ground need more space, attention and nutrients. When you look at this in terms of opportunities you decide to pursue means your time, attention and energy. Otherwise, do not grow or develop.

When you try to plant each seed (or keep track of every opportunity or idea), it does not work. You will end up exhausted, frustrated and defeated. Even though the odds were good for most plants do not have bread for you. There'll be left wondering why you have not been able to create programs and products that you wanted? Because you have not been able to attract the customers wanted to draw? Why were not you able to generate income you wanted to get? And 'because you have planted too.

So what to do with all the seeds (or opportunities) to collect or that you have?

Here is my suggestion ... plant seeds, but make sure the seeds to plant the seeds of plants you want, and you're willing to put in the time, attention and energy they need. Just because something is available, even if it is a good opportunity does not mean you have to do.

And how do you know what seeds to plant? Here are two questions that my clients and I consider what to plant the seeds and leaves of the second growing season.

If I do first, what I will not be able to do?

2. If you do not do this, what can I do?

Look at all the possibilities you have in front of you at this time. What are you going to plant? I'd like to know, do not you share it with me?
